It seems highlife veteran Ofori Amponsah is officially ready to clear the air about one of the most iconic chapters in Ghanaian music history. Speaking in an eye-opening interview, Mr. All4Real set the record straight regarding the legendary hit Mmobrowa, firmly asserting that he wrote the timeless track himself, not the late Kofi B.
While fans have spent years debating the origins of the classic, Ofori Amponsah clarified that Kofi B was strictly a performer on the project rather than its mastermind. In fact, he revealed that he produced the entire Mmobrowa album, sat in the studio for every single recording session, and penned the tracks. He noted that while featured artists are certainly entitled to their fair share of performance royalties, the industry often overlooks the masterminds who actually put pen to paper.
The crooner confessed to having a few regrets about handing over his creative work to other artists over the years, as audiences naturally tend to associate a hit song with the voice singing it. The main source of friction between the two stars stemmed from Kofi B taking public credit for writing the track instead of acknowledging the writer behind the scenes.
