Kaywa Gives Keche Their Flowers: “They Never Forget What I Did for Them”

In an industry where “thank you” can sometimes disappear faster than a one-hit wonder, legendary producer and pastor Kaywa says music duo Keche are a refreshing exception.

The award-winning hitmaker recently took a moment to salute the duo for something that has nothing to do with chart success, flashy performances or viral moments.

Gratitude.

Speaking on The Upside Down Show with Frema Adunyame on Channel One TV on Sunday, June 14, Kaywa revealed that Keche have consistently shown appreciation for the role he played in their musical journey, no matter where life or their careers have taken them.

The Thank-You That Never Expired

According to Kaywa, one of the things that stands out most about Keche is their ability to remember the people who helped them climb the ladder.

While many artists move on and act as if success arrived by express delivery, the “No More” producer says Keche never miss an opportunity to acknowledge his contribution.

“Keche will always come back and say thank you, irrespective of where they find themselves. When they were not even doing well, they always come and say thank you for putting us on, thank you for what you did for us.”

For Kaywa, that kind of loyalty and appreciation is worth more than any plaque on a studio wall.

In the Era of Short Memories

The veteran producer did not hide his disappointment with what he sees as a growing culture of ingratitude among some young people.

In an era where social media receipts are carefully archived but acts of kindness are quickly forgotten, Kaywa believes appreciation is becoming a rare commodity.

“One of the reasons why I love Keche is they know how to value and honour what you have done for them.”

He added that many people receive support, opportunities and mentorship along the way but often struggle with one simple gesture: acknowledging it.

“This generation, they don’t honour. Unfortunately, you put people out and support people, but how to honour is a big issue.”

The Secret Ingredient for Longevity

Beyond good manners, Kaywa believes gratitude is a career strategy.

The producer-turned-pastor says appreciation is one of the keys to building lasting success, whether in music or in life.

According to him, people who remain thankful tend to attract more opportunities, stronger relationships and longer careers.

“That’s what brings you longevity. But if you’re one who’s not thankful, your tank will never be full.”

It is a lesson that sounds simple, but in an industry known for shifting alliances, bruised egos and selective memory, it may be one of the most valuable pieces of advice an artist can receive.

For now, Keche have earned more than a compliment from Kaywa. They have earned his respect.

And in the music business, that may be worth its weight in gold records.
