Ghanaian highlife artiste Fameye has opened up about the emotional challenges of growing up without parental support, revealing that the absence of his parents continues to influence his journey despite his success in music.
The Nothing I Get hitmaker, who lost both parents at a young age, reflected on the difficulties of navigating life, personal struggles and career challenges without the guidance and comfort of a mother or father.
According to Fameye, while his achievements have brought him fame and financial stability, they have not erased the emotional void created by losing his parents early in life.
“People see the success and the fame now, but they don’t know what it takes to navigate your darkest moments completely on your own, without a father or mother to run to for comfort or advice.”
He explained that having no parental support during difficult periods forced him to mature early and develop the strength to confront challenges on his own.
Fameye said music and faith became important sources of strength as he dealt with some of the most difficult moments of his life.
“When things get tough in life, most people have their parents to turn to for encouragement or a warm embrace. But for me, I had to face those dark times alone, dry my own tears, and keep pushing forward.”
The musician also used his experience to encourage people who still have their parents to appreciate and cherish them while they have the opportunity.
He urged his fans to honour their parents and never take their presence for granted, describing parental love and guidance as blessings that can provide invaluable support during life’s most challenging moments.
