Gospel musician Piesie Esther has been crowned the winner of the Gospel Song of the Year award at the 2026 Ghana Music Awards-USA, held last Saturday in New Jersey.
She emerged victorious with her song “Nyame Ye,” beating strong competition from fellow gospel musicians, including Mabel Okyere’s “So Far, So Good,” Paul Enana’s “Baba God,” Diana Hamilton’s “Aha Ye” featuring Elder Mireku and Ntokozo Mbambo, and Ewura Abena’s “Ebefa.”
Following her win, Piesie Esther took to Instagram to express her appreciation to her fans, supporters, family, team and the wider gospel community for their contribution to her success.
She described the recognition as a testament to God’s faithfulness and said the award was more than just a trophy, but a reminder of the impact that can be achieved when one dedicates their gift to God.
“To God be all the glory! What an incredible honour it is to be recognised as Gospel Song of the Year at the Ghana Music Awards USA. This award is not just a trophy to me; it is a reminder of God’s faithfulness and a testimony that when you surrender your gift to Him, He can use it to touch lives beyond what you could ever imagine.”
She also thanked those who listened to, streamed, shared and voted for the song, as well as those who supported and prayed for her throughout the journey.
“To everyone who listened, streamed, shared, voted, supported, prayed, and believed in me; thank you! Your love and support mean more than words can express.”
Piesie Esther further expressed gratitude to her team, family, collaborators and the Ghanaian and global gospel community for embracing and celebrating her music.
She received the honour with humility, dedicating the achievement to God and reaffirming her commitment to producing more worship music in the years ahead.
