Leave it to social media to turn a simple seating adjustment into a full-blown episode of As the Internet Turns.

Ghanaian songstress Wendy Shay has finally addressed the viral video involving fellow musician Lasmid, putting an end to the speculation and online commentary surrounding the brief moment.

The incident happened during a recent video shoot, where the two artistes found themselves sharing a single chair. At one point, Lasmid placed his hand on Wendy’s thigh, prompting the singer to calmly move it away.

That tiny moment was enough to send social media detectives into overdrive, with some viewers accusing Wendy of making a big deal out of what appeared to be an otherwise harmless interaction.

Speaking during an interview with DJ Slim, however, the “Survivor” hitmaker offered a much simpler explanation for what happened.

According to Wendy, there was no drama, tension or hidden message behind the gesture. She explained that she was simply trying to adjust herself on the edge of the chair so she could sit comfortably and ensure the camera captured the shot properly.

And apparently, space was the real issue.

Wendy jokingly explained that her curves required a little extra room, meaning Lasmid’s hand had found itself occupying valuable seating territory at precisely the wrong moment.

In other words, it was less relationship drama and more chair management.

The singer also dismissed any suggestion of bad blood between herself and Lasmid, stressing that the two musicians are good friends and share a strong professional relationship.

According to Wendy, their level of comfort with each other is precisely why she had no problem simply moving his hand and getting back into position.

So, while social media may have already written three seasons and a reunion episode around the viral clip, Wendy Shay’s explanation suggests there was far less drama behind the scenes than the internet imagined.

Sometimes, a hand gets moved simply because someone needs their space. Not every viral moment needs a plot twist.
