GMA – USA unveils 2026 nominees: Check out full list of nominees

Excitement filled The Octopus at Kumasi City Mall on Thursday, April 30, 2026, as the Ghana Music Awards USA (GMA-USA) officially unveiled nominees for this year’s awards ceremony. The event brought together musicians, industry players and music enthusiasts, reflecting the growing global influence of Ghanaian music both locally and internationally.

This year’s edition features nominations in 35 categories, with 24 categories dedicated to Ghanaian musicians based in the United States, while 11 categories recognise achievements within Ghana’s local music industry. The initiative highlights GMA-USA’s mission to strengthen ties between Ghana’s music scene and the Ghanaian diaspora community in the US.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Music Awards USA, Dennis Boafo, popularly known as Don D, stressed the importance of celebrating Ghanaian music excellence on the global stage.

“We are proud to provide a platform that acknowledges the outstanding achievements of artistes both in Ghana and the US. This dual focus strengthens the connection between our communities and showcases the diversity of Ghanaian music to the world,” he said.

The event also treated patrons to thrilling performances from Kumasi-based artistes including Adom Kiki, Xheila and others, giving attendees a taste of the talent expected to shine at the main awards ceremony later this year.Beyond the performances, the ceremony created opportunities for networking and collaboration among artistes, promoters and key stakeholders within the Ghanaian music industry.
