Sista Afia has disclosed that she has never asked a man for money while in a relationship, stating that she has always been financially independent.Speaking in an interview on Angel FM on Tuesday, May 26, she said she makes her own money and does not rely on men financially, regardless of their status or wealth.

“I’ve never asked any man for any amount of money before. When I’m dating a man, I don’t ask them for MoMo because I make my own money, and I know I will always make my own money.”

According to her, even if a man is wealthy, she does not approach relationships with the mindset of depending on him financially.

“It doesn’t matter if the man is rich; it will be worrying if I go with that mentality. I make my own money. If you want to buy for me, I will appreciate it, but don’t expect me to ask you for it,” she added.

Sista Afia also shared her views on relationship dynamics, claiming that some men prefer women they can control financially.

“Most Ghanaian men like to take care of a woman they can control. The IQ is low. If you get a hardworking woman who makes her own money, respects and loves you, why would you have that mentality that the woman will be competing with you?”

On her dating preferences, the singer stated that she is open to dating any kind of man, including corporate workers commonly referred to as “9–5ers.”

She explained that she has not yet found someone who understands her both as a woman and beyond her celebrity status, although she clarified that she is not actively searching for a relationship.
