The FORBES AFRICA 30 Under 30 Class of 2026 has once again placed a spotlight on Ghana’s rising global influence. Three young Ghanaians have been recognised for shaping impact across artificial intelligence, sports development, and most notably for the music industry, global Afrobeats success.

This year’s Ghanaian honourees are Dickson Agyei, Moliy (Molly Ama Montgomery), and Winston Yeboah Danso. Each represents a different pillar of innovation and youth leadership. Within the entertainment space, Moliy’s inclusion stands out as a defining moment for Ghanaian music on the global stage.

The annual Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 list is one of the continent’s most respected youth rankings. It celebrates individuals under 30 who are transforming industries through innovation, leadership, and measurable impact. Selections are based on creativity, scalability, influence, and social or economic contribution.

Moliy puts Ghanaian music on a global Billboard stage

At just 24, Moliy has become one of the most internationally visible voices in the new wave of African music.

Her rise began with the viral success of “SAD GIRLZ LUV MONEY,” a collaboration with Amaarae and Kali Uchis. The song introduced her distinctive sound to global audiences and strengthened her position in the international Afrobeats and alté space.

Her biggest commercial breakthrough came in 2025 with “Shake It To The Max.” The track spent 27 consecutive weeks at number one on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs Chart, making it one of the longest-running chart-toppers of the year. It also appeared on Spotify’s Top Songs of the Summer list and trended widely on TikTok’s global music charts.

Moliy’s sound blends Afrobeats, alté influences, and Caribbean-inspired rhythms. This has positioned her as part of a new generation of artists reshaping global pop music. Her inclusion in Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 reflects both her popularity and her sustained international cultural impact.

Ghana’s broader youth innovation story

Alongside Moliy’s music success, the 2026 list also highlights other Ghanaian innovators.

Dickson Agyei is an AI founder who built Alle-AI, a platform that allows users to compare outputs from multiple artificial intelligence systems. Winston Yeboah Danso is the founder of the East Legon Football Academy, which combines football training with education to support young athletes.

While these achievements span technology and sports development, Moliy’s recognition highlights the growing global reach of Ghana’s creative and music industry.

A new era for Ghanaian music exports

Moliy’s inclusion signals a major shift in Ghanaian music. Artists are no longer limited to regional success but are becoming global cultural contributors.

With streaming platforms, social media virality, and international collaborations driving discovery, Ghanaian artists are increasingly part of a borderless music ecosystem. In this space, African sounds are not only exported but also shaping global pop culture.

Her Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 recognition reinforces this shift and positions her as one of the leading faces of Ghana’s modern music export movement.

Ghana’s sound, globally amplified

As Ghana continues to produce globally competitive talent across industries, Moliy’s presence on the 2026 list reinforces the country’s growing cultural footprint. From Accra to global streaming charts and festival stages, her journey reflects a new reality for Ghanaian music. It is no longer emerging, it is already global.
