Veteran highlife star Akosua Agyapong has revealed that she has been enjoying the single life for quite some time now—and she wants everyone to get the memo.

Speaking in a recent interview on Angel TV, the musician candidly addressed the confusion surrounding her relationship status, stressing that this isn’t the first time she has publicly clarified the matter.

“To be honest, I’m single now. I’ve been single for a while,” she disclosed.

Akosua explained that many people still assume she is married because of outdated information circulating about her. However, she noted that she has repeatedly corrected the narrative on various platforms.

“People still have my status as married, so I want to clear that up. I’ve said it on several shows before. The last time I appeared on Gifty Anti’s show, I made it clear that I’m no longer married,” she said.

The celebrated performer was quick to shut down any speculation linking her comments to her former relationship with veteran musician Amandzeba Nat Brew.

“That chapter closed about 26 years ago. Amandzeba was in the year 2000. It has nothing to do with my marriage, and I’d rather not revisit it,” she stated.

Using her own experience as an example, Akosua argued that celebrities do not owe the public a front-row seat to every detail of their personal lives.

“As a musician, your private life is separate from your career. You don’t have to sit in interviews explaining every reason a marriage ended. The other person involved may be dealing with challenges people know nothing about,” she remarked.

She also offered some practical relationship advice, urging people not to turn failed marriages into blame games.

“If a marriage isn’t working, pack your things and move on peacefully. Not every ending needs a villain. Sometimes things simply don’t work out,” she said.

Akosua was previously in a relationship with Amandzeba Nat Brew before later marrying Prophet Daniel Asamoah-Larbi. Today, however, the highlife icon says she is happily and confidently walking her own path—solo.
