Ghanaian dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has been honoured with a citation from the City of Philadelphia and the Ghana–U.S. Chamber of Commerce in recognition of his artistic achievements and efforts in promoting African culture on the global stage.
The recognition was presented during the Black Star Experience, an event celebrating African excellence and cultural exchange between Ghana and the United States.
The award also acknowledged Stonebwoy’s role in strengthening international relations through his music and the vision behind his annual BHIM Festival, which continues to attract global attention and participation.
Reacting to the honour, the award-winning artiste described it as a reminder of his purpose and responsibility to inspire others through excellence, resilience, and service.He reflected on his journey from humble beginnings to performing on international stages, stressing that his mission remains unchanged.
“From humble beginnings to global stages, the mission remains the same,” he said, adding that he will continue to represent Ghana and Africa proudly while using music as a bridge between cultures.Stonebwoy further noted that he remains committed to building a lasting legacy through his craft, one that extends beyond music and contributes to cultural diplomacy and global connection.
The citation adds to the artiste’s growing list of international recognitions as he continues to position African music within the global entertainment space.
