While many Ghanaians were still trying to process another painful Black Stars defeat, Shatta Wale was busy reminding everyone that he allegedly saw it coming long before the first whistle.
Following Ghana’s disappointing loss to Colombia, the dancehall star took to X (formerly Twitter) to declare that the result did not surprise him in the slightest. According to him, the warning signs were obvious the moment he spotted the goalkeeper in the starting lineup.
In a post that quickly gained traction online, Shatta Wale revealed that he had even shared his prediction with his wife before kickoff.
“I told my wife if it’s that goalkeeper dierr they will score us quick.”
It appears that while the coaching staff were fine-tuning tactics, Shatta Wale had already completed his own pre-match analysis and reached a far less optimistic conclusion about Ghana’s last line of defense.
His cheeky remark quickly struck a chord with frustrated fans, many of whom flooded the comments to laugh away the disappointment while others agreed with his blunt assessment of the goalkeeper’s performance.
There is an old saying that behind every great man is a supportive woman. In Shatta Wale’s case, she also gets front-row seats to his unsolicited football analysis, which, judging by this prediction, was uncomfortably accurate. As for the Black Stars, perhaps the next game will bring better fortunes and a pair of safer hands between the posts.
