Ghanaian Afrobeats and highlife artiste KiDi has responded to growing social media speculation surrounding his relationship with former label mate Kuami Eugene, dismissing claims that the two artistes have fallen out.
The discussion gained attention after a video shared by Pulse Ghana on TikTok showed KiDi reacting to comments from social media users questioning whether he and Kuami Eugene are still on good terms.
Some users suggested that the once-close relationship between the two former Lynx Entertainment signees had changed, despite both artistes previously maintaining that their friendship remained intact.
Among the comments KiDi read were claims that he had stopped supporting Kuami Eugene’s projects while continuing to promote other artistes’ works.
One comment stated: “I told you, KiDi and Kuami Eugene weren’t cool. Y’all thought it was just for Elon Money.”
Another added: “KiDi promotes many artistes and their work, but didn’t do the same for Eugene’s EP, yet claims their friendship is intact.”
A third comment suggested that personal issues had created tension between the two musicians.
In response, KiDi appeared unfazed by the rumours and simply replied: “Di wo fie asem.” The Twi expression translates to “Mind your business.”
The brief response has since attracted reactions from fans, with many interpreting it as KiDi’s way of shutting down speculation and indicating that the public should not interfere in personal matters.
KiDi and Kuami Eugene rose to fame as some of Ghana’s most successful young talents under Lynx Entertainment, building a strong bond that extended beyond music. Over the years, the two have supported each other’s careers and remain among the leading voices of Ghana’s contemporary music scene.
