Ghanaian musician Lasmid has paid an emotional tribute to hiplife legend Okomfour Kwadee, acknowledging the veteran artiste’s enduring influence on Ghana’s contemporary music scene.
Lasmid made the remarks during a surprise courtesy visit to Okomfour Kwadee at his home on July 15, 2026, where he expressed gratitude for the veteran musician’s contribution to the development of hiplife and the inspiration he has provided to a new generation of artistes.
Speaking during the visit, Lasmid described the meeting as a special and memorable moment, revealing that it was his first time meeting the legendary rapper in person.
“We came here today to appreciate you because you’ve really inspired us. This is my first time seeing you and I’m so happy and grateful. We thank you so much for everything you’ve done for us,” he said.

“We used to listen to you when we were young and we took inspiration from you as well. We’ve now grown to also do more sounds like you. We then decided to come home and see you personally,” Lasmid added.
