After seven years of funding hit records, flashy music videos and ambitious career moves, Amenfi Central MP Joana Gyan Cudjoe has officially brought her business relationship with Ghanaian music duo KECHE to an end.
According to a statement issued through GEM Multimedia, the contract between Cudjoe and KECHE has reached its natural expiration, with the MP choosing not to renew the agreement.
Cudjoe played a major role in the duo’s career during the partnership, serving as executive producer, manager and financial backer. Under her leadership, KECHE released notable projects including No Dulling and Good Mood, while also undergoing a brand transformation that saw the duo adopt the name KECHE GLOBAL as they positioned themselves for a bigger international audience.
But before the rumour mill starts warming up its engines, this is reportedly not a case of celebrity drama gone wrong.
There are no reported accusations, public jabs or social media warfare between the parties. If anything, the family ties remain firmly intact. KECHE Andrew is still Cudjoe’s husband, while KECHE Joshua remains his musical partner.
In other words, the marriage is still on. It is the business contract that has clocked out.
With the agreement now officially over, KECHE GLOBAL will operate independently and have the freedom to negotiate new deals, sign fresh contracts and chart the next chapter of their musical journey.
Cudjoe, meanwhile, is not exactly retiring her music-industry hat. Having gained years of experience in artist management, production and investment, she is expected to redirect her attention towards discovering and developing new talents through her multimedia label.
So, the contract may have reached its final chorus, but there is no apparent family feud waiting backstage. The business partnership has ended, while the family relationship continues to play on.
