When the manager of a music group also happens to be one member’s wife, a resignation is almost guaranteed to send the rumour mill into overtime.
But Keche Joshua is having none of it.
The Keche Global member has moved quickly to dismiss speculation surrounding the departure of Joana Gyan Cudjoe, who has officially stepped down from managing the music duo after seven years at the helm.
Speaking during an interview on Hitz FM, Joshua explained that the decision was entirely peaceful and strictly professional. According to him, there is no bad blood between the group and the Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central.
Instead, he believes the timing is simply right for Keche Global to take greater control of its own affairs.
Joshua described Joana as a powerhouse who played a crucial role in shaping the group’s journey. He credited her vision, leadership and record label, GEM Multimedia, with helping Keche deliver several successful songs and reach new heights in their career.
Business Stayed Business
Joshua also praised Joana for her professionalism, particularly given the unusual dynamics involved in managing a group while being married to one of its members.
According to him, she was able to draw a clear line between family and business.
When it was time to discuss music and management, Joana reportedly put her role as Keche Andrew’s wife aside and focused on her responsibilities as the group’s manager.
Joshua said she consistently helped keep the duo united, disciplined and focused on their journey, while reminding them of the humble beginnings that shaped their career.
No Drama, Just a New Chapter
Joshua stressed that the decision to end the professional relationship was mutual.
With Joana now carrying increased responsibilities in politics and Keche Global having grown into a stronger and more independent act, both sides agreed that the time had come for the musicians to take the reins.
So, despite what the internet might have expected, there is reportedly no explosive breakup, secret beef or backstage soap opera hiding behind the announcement.
The professional partnership may be over, but the personal relationship remains intact.
For Keche Global, it is now a new chapter. And while the duo prepares to navigate the next stage of its career independently, Joshua made it clear that Joana’s seven-year contribution will not be forgotten.
After all, some managers leave with a resignation letter. Others leave behind a legacy.
