Sometimes life delivers a blow so heavy that the usual remedies simply stop working. For Ghanaian musician Eugene Baah, popularly known as Choirmaster, music has become more than a career. It has become a place to breathe, process pain and keep moving.
Following the heartbreaking loss of his wife, actress Beverly Afaglo, Choirmaster has returned to the studio and set, using his craft as an outlet while navigating the difficult road through grief.
The musician recently gave fans a glimpse of an upcoming music video, appearing on set in striking tactical, soldier-inspired attire. The unexpected look immediately caught attention and left fans wondering what the singer has been cooking behind the scenes.
But beneath the dramatic outfit was a much more vulnerable message.
Sharing the behind-the-scenes footage, Choirmaster opened up about the role music has played in helping him cope with his loss.
“Music saved me from getting depressed,” he revealed.
His words offered a rare glimpse into the emotional weight he has been carrying while showing how deeply creativity can become intertwined with healing.
Rather than allowing grief to silence him, Choirmaster appears determined to turn the pain into something meaningful, using melodies, lyrics and performance as his emotional release.
The post quickly drew an outpouring of support from fans and well-wishers, who flooded the musician with messages of encouragement.
For Choirmaster, the road ahead may still be difficult, but one thing appears certain: he is choosing to face the silence of grief with the sound of music.
