If Apple Music Ghana had a landlord this week, Kweku Smoke might be the one collecting the rent.
The Ghanaian rapper is currently enjoying a remarkable run on the Apple Music Top 20 Ghana chart, with his music occupying a huge chunk of the upper section and leaving very little breathing space for the competition.
Leading the invasion is “Bra,” which has climbed all the way to the No. 1 position.
Right behind it is “Bombe” at No. 2, while his collaboration with Lasmid, “Faith,” completes the top three.
And Kweku Smoke is nowhere near finished.
The rapper has managed to place a staggering number of songs within the chart’s top 12 positions, turning what should be a competitive streaming battlefield into what currently looks like a Kweku Smoke private playlist.
For an artist to dominate multiple positions on a national streaming chart at the same time, the numbers tell a pretty loud story. Ghanaian listeners are clearly spending serious time with his catalogue.
But there is still some Black Sherif resistance.
The global Ghanaian star continues to hold his own on the chart with songs including “Espresso,” “Jolie,” and “Forever,” his collaboration with AratheJay.
So while Kweku Smoke is busy collecting positions at the top, Blacko is making sure the chart does not become a complete one-man show.
Still, the headline belongs to Kweku Smoke.
With “Bra” sitting at No. 1, “Bombe” at No. 2 and “Faith” at No. 3, the rapper has turned the Apple Music Ghana Top 20 into his own little neighbourhood.
At this point, other artists might want to knock before entering.
Kweku Smoke is currently running the playlist.
