Amber Rose Says She’s No Longer a Feminist After Raising Sons Changes Her Perspective

Well, folks, put down the SlutWalk banners for a minute because Amber Rose appears to have retired her feminist megaphone.

The American model and media personality has revealed that she no longer identifies as a feminist, saying that growing older and raising sons has dramatically changed the way she sees gender, relationships and the world around her.

Rose explained that while she still believes in empowering women and supporting “girl power,” she no longer feels comfortable attaching herself to feminism in the same way she once did. According to her, motherhood, particularly raising boys, has encouraged her to look beyond the female experience and consider the other side of the gender conversation.

And, naturally, the internet had plenty to say.

Social media quickly became a courtroom of opinions, with some users applauding Rose for what they viewed as a change of perspective. One X user welcomed her announcement with the rather blunt remark, “Good to have your senses back,” before taking another swipe at her past advocacy.

Others, however, argued that Rose may be drawing a distinction between feminism as a movement and some of the ways it is perceived or practiced. They pointed out that feminism, broadly defined, advocates for equality between the sexes rather than hostility toward men.

Then came the more sympathetic camp.

Some users suggested that raising sons can naturally give mothers a deeper appreciation for issues affecting boys and men. Their argument was simple: supporting women does not have to mean ignoring boys, and celebrating “girl power” can exist alongside making sure young men feel valued, supported and understood.

Rose’s comments are particularly notable given her long association with conversations around body positivity, female sexuality and women’s empowerment. Her decision to distance herself from the feminist label therefore marks a noticeable shift in how she publicly describes her worldview.

Whether Amber Rose’s position represents a permanent ideological change or simply an evolving personal perspective, she has once again managed to spark a conversation far beyond her own social media pages.
