Mr Eazi Returns With New Single “Comfort” Featuring Moliy

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Mr Eazi is taking a trip down memory lane, but this time he has upgraded the ride.

The Afropop pioneer has returned to the sound that helped put him on the global map with his latest single, “Comfort,” featuring Ghanaian-American singer-songwriter Moliy.

Produced by Nigerian hitmaker Ragee, whose credits include Davido’s “Unavailable” and Ayra Starr’s “Hot Body,” the song blends bouncy Afrobeats rhythms, smooth synth basslines and R&B-inspired textures.

For Mr Eazi, however, “Comfort” is not simply another Afrobeats release. It is a refreshed take on the Banku Music sound that has been central to his identity.

The singer has described the record as an updated and elevated version of his classic style, delivering the kind of sweet, easygoing music his audience has come to associate with him.

A Visual Trip Back to the 80s

The nostalgia continues in the official music video, directed by Ademola Falomo.

Rather than settling for the usual flashy Afrobeats treatment, the visuals lean heavily into an 80s-inspired aesthetic, complete with hotline commercial-style scenes, laser-grid overlays, vintage mall photo setups and oversized mobile phones.

Basically, Mr Eazi has managed to make retro look fashionable again.

Back to His Ghanaian Roots

“Comfort” also reinforces Mr Eazi’s longstanding relationship with Ghana’s creative community.

The singer developed the foundations of his Banku Music sound while studying at KNUST in Kumasi, and Ghana has remained an important part of his musical journey.

From early collaborations with Pappy Kojo on “Bankulize” and Efya on “Skin Tight” to his more recent collaborative project with King Promise, See What We’ve Done, Eazi has consistently used Ghanaian collaborations as part of his creative evolution.

Moliy Brings the New Wave

Moliy, meanwhile, arrives with plenty of momentum of her own.

Following the international traction generated by “Shake It to the Max (FLY),” the singer adds her distinctive vocals to “Comfort,” helping connect Mr Eazi’s established Banku Music identity with the fresher sound of Ghana’s current pop generation.

The result is a collaboration that feels both familiar and new, with Mr Eazi revisiting the formula that made his music distinctive while allowing Moliy to inject it with contemporary energy.

With “Comfort,” Mr Eazi appears to be reminding listeners of something he has known all along: sometimes, you do not need to abandon your roots to move forward. You just need to give them a fresh pair of shoes.
