If social media had its way, every award nomination list would come with a few broken friendships and at least one celebrity beef.

But Piesie Esther is making it clear that is not happening between her and fellow gospel powerhouse Diana Hamilton.

The “W’aye Me Yie” hitmaker has dismissed reports of tension between the two gospel stars following the controversy surrounding the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards nominations.

Speaking in an interview, Piesie Esther firmly rejected suggestions that the TGMA nominations had created a rift between her and Diana Hamilton, stressing that their relationship remains intact.

According to her, an award nomination, or the lack of one, is simply not powerful enough to destroy the bond and mutual respect they have built over the years.

“There Is No Bad Blood”

While fans and social media users dissected the nominations and debated who deserved recognition, Piesie Esther said she and Diana Hamilton were not having any behind-the-scenes drama.

In other words, while the internet was busy looking for smoke, there was apparently no fire.

However, the gospel musician was equally honest about her own feelings regarding the nominations.

Piesie Esther admitted that she was disappointed after failing to secure a nomination in the highly coveted Artiste of the Year category.

And she was not about to pretend otherwise.

The singer acknowledged that missing out on such a major category was a personal disappointment, but she made it clear that her feelings about the awards should not be confused with her relationships within the gospel music community.

For Piesie Esther, competition may exist on the awards stage, but it does not have to spill into personal relationships.

Her comments serve as a reminder that artistes can compete for trophies without turning every nomination list into a friendship-ending event.

So, for anyone waiting for a Piesie Esther versus Diana Hamilton showdown, it appears they may have to keep waiting.

The trophy race may be competitive, but the sisterhood remains very much intact.
