TenKiDi Sets His Sights on Another TGMA Artist of the Year Crown

Ten years into a remarkable music career, Ghanaian Afrobeats star KiDi is showing no signs of slowing down. If anything, the singer appears to have developed an appetite for bigger victories, more milestones and, naturally, more trophies.

With a new album titled Where Do We Go From Here, KiDi is already looking ahead to his next major prize. And he has made it clear that the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Artist of the Year award is firmly on his radar.

Speaking on TV3’s NewDay, the award-winning musician confidently declared, “I can and I will win Artist of the Year again.”

That statement may sound bold, but KiDi has never been one to confuse success with retirement. For him, every achievement seems to come with another question: what next?

Even if he were to wake up tomorrow with a collection of Grammy Awards sitting proudly on his shelf, KiDi says he would not suddenly decide that his journey was complete. The singer appears to view success less as a finish line and more as a rather addictive road trip with no obvious destination.

Awards, however, are not the only reason he makes music. KiDi has repeatedly maintained that his passion goes beyond collecting trophies. But if the trophies happen to arrive, he certainly will not be sending them back.

His approach to awards is refreshingly straightforward. Win it, enjoy it, then start planning how to win it again. In other words, there is no “thank you and goodnight” moment just yet.

With songs such as “Babylon” and “Signature” adding to his impressive catalogue, a newly released album and a major concert on the horizon, KiDi appears to have all the ingredients for another strong run.

And if his confidence is anything to go by, the singer is not simply hoping to return to the TGMA winner’s circle. He is already mentally reserving his seat.

God’s time may indeed be the best, but KiDi seems determined to make sure his time at the top lasts a little longer.
