When it comes to marriage, some couples share the spotlight, while others quietly build each other behind the scenes. For gospel powerhouse Piesie Esther, her husband, Enock Asiedu, appears to be firmly in the second category.
The award-winning gospel musician has opened up about the role her husband plays in her music ministry, describing their marriage as one of the greatest blessings God has given her.
Speaking on UTV, Piesie Esther praised her husband for not only supporting her career but also understanding the spiritual responsibility that comes with her calling.
“Marriage has been a blessing to me, to my ministry, and to my family. God has blessed me with a helpful and supportive husband, a man of God who understands the calling of God.”
Interestingly, their journey did not exactly begin with Enock Asiedu sitting in the front row as Piesie Esther’s biggest fan.
The singer revealed that before they got married, her husband was not particularly interested in music performed by female musicians. Today, however, that story has taken a dramatic turn.
According to Piesie Esther, her husband has become deeply involved in her work, especially whenever she has a major project or event coming up.
And apparently, he takes preparation very seriously.
“My husband doesn’t sleep when we have a project ahead,” she explained. “I can sleep and snore, but he will still be up, making sure everything is in order. Let me cut it short: it has been a blessing.”
That sounds less like a husband and more like an unpaid executive producer who refuses to clock out.
Beyond helping with the practical side of her career, Piesie Esther also believes the secret to their marriage is rooted in humility, prayer and mutual respect.
She encouraged women in marriage to remain humble, even when they occupy influential positions outside the home.
“It is necessary to pray to God to help you become a submissive woman, even if you hold a higher position,” she said. “I respect my husband very much. I can never shout at my husband.”
She admitted that, like every couple, disagreements sometimes happen, but they have learned to resolve their differences and find common ground.
“Sometimes, we argue and become angry, but thanks be to God, we always settle our differences and arrive at the same understanding.”
And just when the serious marriage lessons were getting too serious, Piesie Esther added a little sweetness to the conversation.
The gospel star revealed that she has several affectionate names for her husband, including “my lord,” “honey,” “Kofi,” and occasionally, “Honourable.”
Clearly, Enock Asiedu has collected enough titles at home to start his own campaign.
For Piesie Esther, however, the real title that matters is that of a supportive husband. Behind the powerful voice, the awards and the demanding gospel ministry is a partner who stays awake, helps prepare for major projects and understands the calling she believes God has placed on her life.
