Ghanaian musician Mzbel has once again set social media buzzing after opening up about her relationship with a 19-year-old man.
The singer, born Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, shared a photo of herself with the young man on Facebook and made it clear that she is thoroughly enjoying his company.
In a caption accompanying the photo, Mzbel described the teenager in glowing terms, praising him for being sweet, intelligent, ambitious, caring and funny. She also said he has been teaching her a lot and making her feel special.
Her conclusion was simple: age is just a number, and people should not be too quick to judge their relationship.
As expected, social media did not exactly sit quietly after the revelation.
Some followers questioned the considerable age difference between the two, while others defended the singer’s right to pursue a relationship that makes her happy. For the supporters, love, understanding and mutual respect matter more than the number written on a birth certificate.
