Ghanaian rapper Amerado has officially announced his upcoming EP, The Price of Becoming, a deeply personal project inspired by the struggles, sacrifices, doubts and triumphs that come with chasing greatness.
For Amerado, becoming the person you dream of being is rarely a smooth ride. Behind every achievement are moments of uncertainty, setbacks, difficult decisions and nights when giving up seems like the easier option.
The rapper’s latest project appears to draw heavily from those experiences, turning personal challenges into music and giving listeners a glimpse into the journey behind the artist.
In announcing the EP, Amerado reflected on the realities of growth and the price that comes with pursuing one’s dreams.
“At some point in the journey, you realize becoming the person you dream of being comes with a price.”
He acknowledged the doubts, setbacks, lost relationships and moments of frustration that can accompany the journey, but stressed that the key is to keep moving forward.
For Amerado, the road does not necessarily become easier. Instead, the motivation comes from knowing that the person waiting at the end of the journey is worth the struggle.
The rapper also revealed that he has experienced many of these moments himself and has channelled them into his music.
“I’ve lived some of these moments. I’ve turned them into music. And now, I’m ready to share them with you.”
A Project About Growth
The Price of Becoming promises to explore themes of resilience, self-belief, sacrifice, pain and personal growth.
Rather than presenting success as an overnight achievement, Amerado appears determined to tell the story behind the journey, including the uncomfortable chapters that are often left out of the celebration.
The EP is scheduled for release on August 28, 2026.
