Black Sherif is turning up the heat once again, and this time, the sun appears to have his name on it.
The Ghanaian music star has announced a new project titled Sun Sherif, with the highly anticipated release scheduled for September 4, 2026.
The award-winning artiste shared the news on X, revealing the project’s title and release date. While he has kept the finer details under wraps, fans now have one important date firmly marked on their calendars.
For now, the tracklist remains a mystery, and Black Sherif has yet to reveal whether the project will feature collaborations with other artistes. Naturally, that has done little to calm the curiosity surrounding the release.
Born and raised in Kumasi, Black Sherif has steadily transformed himself from a promising young talent into one of Ghana’s most compelling contemporary artistes. His music has found a distinctive space at the intersection of highlife, hip-hop, reggae and Afrobeats, often tackling themes of struggle, ambition, survival, identity and the realities of growing up.
His ability to turn personal experiences into songs that resonate with listeners has been a major part of his appeal, both at home and beyond Ghana’s borders.
Sun Sherif now arrives as the latest chapter in that journey, and expectations are understandably high. Black Sherif has built a reputation for making music that feels personal while still managing to connect with a much wider audience.
The September 4 release date also gives fans something concrete to anticipate as the artiste continues to maintain a strong presence on both the Ghanaian and international music scenes.
The big questions, however, remain unanswered. How many songs will the project contain? Who, if anyone, will be joining Black Sherif on the tracklist? And most importantly, what new story does the self-styled Blacko have waiting?
For now, the artiste is keeping his cards close to his chest.
But with Sun Sherif scheduled to arrive on September 4, the countdown has officially begun. And judging by the anticipation already building among fans, Black Sherif may be preparing to make the end of summer considerably hotter.
