Veteran Ghanaian gospel trio Daughters of Glorious Jesus has revealed that despite nearly four decades in the music industry, the thought of pursuing solo careers has never crossed their minds.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM’s Hitz Praise Zone with Nii Noi, the award-winning group attributed their remarkable longevity to the strong bond they share, describing themselves as sisters united by a common purpose and unwavering faith.
According to the trio, their musical journey has always been rooted in a shared divine calling, and they believe the gift God entrusted to them was meant to be nurtured collectively rather than individually.
“Not for once has it ever occurred to us to go our separate ways or pursue solo projects. The talent God gave us was meant for all of us, and we cherish that gift together,” the group said.
The gospel icons explained that mutual respect and appreciation for one another’s unique talents have been central to their enduring success.
“Each of us sings our part to the best of our ability, and we genuinely appreciate what the other person brings to the group. There has never been any competition among us. Instead, we celebrate each other’s strengths,” they noted.
They added that their spirit of unity, humility and selflessness has enabled them to remain one of Ghana’s most respected and enduring gospel groups for more than three decades.
Comprising Cynthia Appiadu, Edna Sarpong and Monica Owusu Ansah, Daughters of Glorious Jesus has become a household name in Ghanaian gospel music since its formation in 1989.
Over the years, the trio has inspired generations of worshippers with timeless songs such as Bebre, Nea Yɛhu, Wo Ntaban and Mebo Yesu Din Daa. Their rich vocal harmonies, inspiring lyrics and unwavering commitment to gospel ministry have earned them a lasting place among Ghana’s most influential gospel music groups.
As they continue to inspire audiences through their music and ministry, the trio says their focus remains firmly on serving God together—a commitment that has defined their remarkable 37-year journey.
