Who said the hustle has to stop at the recording studio? Dr Cryme has just added a shiny new achievement to his already colourful career, and this one comes with a certificate instead of a microphone.
Ghanaian musician Darlington Agyekum, popularly known as Dr Cryme, has officially graduated from Methodist University Ghana with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Studies.
The “Killin Me Softly” hitmaker was among the graduates who took the stage during the university’s 2026 commencement ceremony, proudly collecting his certificate as friends, fans and fellow graduates gathered to celebrate the milestone with him.
For an artiste who has spent years navigating the demanding Ghanaian music industry, juggling music with university studies is no small assignment. Between studio sessions, performances and academic deadlines, Dr Cryme clearly had plenty on his plate.
But apparently, one degree is not enough for the rapper.
Speaking to GhanaWeb, Dr Cryme revealed that his newly acquired bachelor’s degree is only the beginning of his academic journey. The musician disclosed that he plans to return to school in 2027 to pursue a master’s degree.
That means the classroom has not seen the last of him just yet.
His latest achievement also puts him among a growing number of Ghanaian creatives who are combining entertainment careers with academic pursuits. For artists building businesses and brands beyond music, education can provide another layer of knowledge to navigate the increasingly complex entertainment industry.
Dr Cryme may have earned his reputation behind the microphone, but with a BBA now officially added to his name, the rapper is proving that there is plenty more to his career story than hit records and stage performances.
And if his plans for 2027 stay on course, the graduation cap may soon have to make another appearance.
