Calvin Kwadwo Fosu, the eldest son of late highlife legend Daddy Lumba, has issued a strong warning to individuals he accuses of spreading false information about the musician’s family.
The warning follows the recent unveiling of Daddy Lumba’s final resting place, an event that attracted widespread attention and emotional tributes from fans, friends and industry players who gathered to honour the iconic musician.
In a statement expressing appreciation to Ghanaians for their support during the difficult period following the death of the highlife legend, Calvin thanked the public for standing with the family and celebrating his father’s legacy.
However, he cautioned that the family would no longer remain silent over what he described as deliberate attempts to damage their reputation.
“I have to issue a warning to those who have chosen to spread falsehoods or tarnish the family’s name. Let this be clear, such actions will no longer go unanswered. A legal team has been instructed to deal with these matters through the appropriate channels,” he stated.
Calvin’s comments come amid continued public discussions and speculation surrounding Daddy Lumba’s family, his funeral arrangements, surviving relatives and matters relating to his estate.
The late highlife icon, born Charles Kwadwo Fosu, remains one of Ghana’s most influential musicians, with a career spanning decades and producing numerous timeless songs that continue to resonate with audiences across generations.
With the latest statement, Calvin has indicated that the family intends to pursue legal avenues against individuals or platforms that publish claims they consider defamatory, rather than engaging in prolonged public disputes.
