After nearly two decades of marriage, the much-talked-about union between gospel musician Florence Obinim and controversial preacher Bishop Daniel Obinim appears to have entered yet another dramatic chapter.
And this time, the bottles may be doing the talking.
Media personality Ola Michael reportedly revealed on Neat FM that Florence’s family recently visited Bishop Obinim’s side of the family and returned the Tiri Nsa, the traditional marriage drinks presented during the marriage process.
In Ghanaian customary marriage traditions, returning the drinks can carry serious significance. It is generally understood as a formal indication that one party or family wants to bring the marriage to an end.
According to the report, Florence’s family allegedly decided to return the drinks after becoming frustrated with what they reportedly viewed as years of embarrassment, insults and public disrespect surrounding the marriage.
The development, if accurate, adds another dramatic twist to the highly publicised relationship between Florence and Bishop Obinim.
Ola Michael further claimed that Bishop Obinim did not stage a last-minute rescue mission when the drinks were returned.
Instead, according to the alleged account, he instructed his team to receive the items without putting up any resistance.
No shouting match. No dramatic chase. Apparently, just take the bottles and let everyone go home.
The reported development follows comments Florence made in June when she suggested that she would not force her husband to remain in the marriage if he genuinely wanted to leave.
Her remarks came after Bishop Obinim publicly spoke about being afraid of his wife and admitted that he sometimes dreaded returning home.
That revelation naturally sent social media into overdrive, with many people wondering whether the couple’s long-running marital drama had finally reached its final episode.
For now, however, there is an important caveat.
Neither Florence Obinim nor Bishop Daniel Obinim has officially confirmed that the Tiri Nsa has been returned or that their marriage has formally ended.
The story therefore remains based on the claims reported by Ola Michael and should be treated as such until either party speaks publicly.
Still, if the reported bottle exchange is indeed genuine, then this may be more than just another chapter in the Obinims’ much-publicised relationship saga.
It could be the traditional announcement that the marriage has officially moved from “for better or worse” to “please collect your bottles.”
And in Ghanaian customary terms, that is no small message.
