Ghanaian-born singer-songwriter LouV is set to officially begin her recording career with the release of her debut single, “This Love,” a project that blends contemporary R&B with Afrobeat influences.
Based in Northampton, England, LouV’s debut release introduces audiences to her distinctive sound, built around emotional storytelling, rich vocal harmonies and modern R&B production. The single will serve as the first offering from her upcoming six-track EP, which explores different stages of love, relationships and emotional vulnerability.
LouV’s passion for music began in Ghana, where she developed her talent through school bands and talent shows. After relocating to the United Kingdom, she continued nurturing her craft by sharing cover versions of popular songs on Instagram before transitioning into songwriting and original music.
Her journey into professional music began after encouragement from a friend who later became her manager. She started writing songs using online instrumentals before establishing a home recording studio, where she refined her songwriting, vocal arrangements and production approach.
Drawing inspiration from global stars including Kehlani, Brandy, Beyoncé, Tiwa Savage and Ariana Grande, LouV’s sound combines the soulful melodies of contemporary R&B with the rhythmic energy of Afrobeats.
The upcoming EP explores themes ranging from attraction and romance to heartbreak, longing and emotional healing. According to LouV, her songwriting is deeply connected to personal experiences, allowing her to capture genuine emotions rather than simply creating general love songs.
Her emergence highlights the growing contribution of Ghanaian-origin musicians to the United Kingdom’s expanding R&B and Afro-fusion scene, where artistes continue to merge African musical influences with contemporary global sounds.
