Gospel musician Florence Obinim has revealed that she abandoned plans to publicly release a campaign song she composed for then flagbearer John Dramani Mahama during the 2024 election season.
Led by the Holy Spirit, Florence Obinim claimed she went on to compose one of her strongest lyrical works, which she subsequently recorded and mastered in Kumasi after multiple trips to complete production.
“Just three days after I accepted the gig, the Holy Spirit helped me compose the best lyrics. I traveled to Kumasi to and fro to have it recorded and mastered. That was the first time I was recording a campaign song for any political party so I put in my best because I knew I couldn’t disappoint,” she recounted.
Before making the masterpiece public, Florence Obinim said she had a conviction to keep her husband, Bishop Daniel Obinim, in the loop about the whole plan, a decision that changed everything.
The self-acclaimed submissive wife mentioned that her husband expressed reservations about the project and advised her to ditch it, despite the monetary investment she had made.
Instead of releasing it officially, the project became a jam only among members of their congregation.
Her account adds to ongoing public conversation around her marriage and how personal decisions have, at times, influenced her private and professional work.
