In the entertainment world, silence has a funny way of creating its own soundtrack. Two artists stop appearing together for a while, and suddenly the internet is convinced someone is drafting a diss track.
That was exactly the conclusion many fans reached after noticing that Itz Tiffany and Fuse ODG had not collaborated or publicly interacted as often as they once did. Before long, social media had written its own script, complete with an imaginary feud and a friendship supposedly gone sour.
According to Itz Tiffany, however, the gossip deserves an award for creativity rather than accuracy.
The singer has dismissed suggestions of a strained relationship with the “Antenna” hitmaker, insisting there is no hostility between them and that reports of bad blood have been greatly exaggerated.
The speculation is understandable. At one point, the pair were among Ghana’s most exciting musical partnerships, delivering infectious hits that helped soundtrack the rise of Afrobeats and Azonto to international audiences. When the collaborations became less frequent, fans naturally assumed something had gone wrong behind the scenes.
The reality, Tiffany says, is far less dramatic.
Rather than falling out, both artists simply found themselves following different career paths while juggling demanding schedules. Between recording, travelling and pursuing individual projects, finding the time to reunite in the studio has been easier said than done.
So, for anyone eagerly waiting for a lyrical showdown or a social media exchange worthy of a blockbuster feud, you may have to keep waiting. There are no flying microphones, no cryptic posts and certainly no backstage drama.
The only thing separating Itz Tiffany and Fuse ODG these days appears to be calendars that refuse to cooperate. As for the friendship, it remains intact. Fans may not be getting another anthem from the duo just yet, but they can at least stop searching for trouble where none exists.
