Ghanaian broadcaster and music producer Jay Foley has announced his return to music production after taking a break from the craft for several years, revealing that he is currently working on a special extended play (EP) featuring a number of well-known Ghanaian artistes.
Speaking to arts and culture journalist Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z on July 11, 2026, Jay Foley disclosed that he resumed producing music towards the end of 2025 and has since been developing a project that celebrates his passion for music and his contribution to the industry.
“It was just about late last year that I got myself back to music production. I’ve got something I am working on. Works like my own productions, like music that I have produced. I put a number of popular artistes that I am about to roll out, a special EP just to say ‘thank you’ to myself,” he said.
According to Jay Foley, returning to the studio has reignited his passion for music production, a field he says he deeply missed after focusing on his successful career in radio and television.
“I missed it because people who know me from times past know that I am a producer and I let it go for a couple of years so I went back to it and I am like ‘wow I miss this’,” he added.
Although widely recognised today as one of Ghana’s respected media personalities, Jay Foley’s career in the entertainment industry began behind the mixing console as a music producer and recording artiste.
He trained under legendary Ghanaian producer Hammer, whose mentorship helped shape his production skills before he transitioned into mainstream broadcasting.
While details of the forthcoming EP, including featured artistes and a release date, have not yet been announced, Jay Foley’s return to music production has generated excitement among fans and industry stakeholders eager to hear his latest body of work.
