Multiple award-winning Ghanaian singer and songwriter King Promise, born Gregory Promise Newman, chose to celebrate his birthday in a meaningful way by giving back to society and supporting underprivileged children across Accra.

Ahead of his birthday on August 16, King Promise dedicated the celebration to community service in partnership with Akwaba Volunteers NGO, with support from Ecobank Ghana. The initiative focused on raising funds and creating positive impact rather than simply celebrating with the usual birthday fanfare.

On Saturday, August 15, the singer kicked off the activities with an early-morning run alongside members of the 7 Even Run Club and Akwaba Volunteers NGO. Fans and supporters also joined the event, turning his birthday celebration into a collective effort for a greater cause.

The initiative highlights King Promise’s commitment to using his influence beyond music and entertainment to support communities and make a difference in the lives of people in need.

Through the Day of Giving, funds were raised to support Akwaba Volunteers NGO and its work toward improving the lives of underprivileged children across Accra.
