Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed that his wife, Chioma Rowland, manages his finances, explaining that he entrusted her with the responsibility because of his tendency to spend money impulsively.
The award-winning singer made the disclosure during a livestream with Nigerian content creator Davrel while arriving in Ghana with members of his team.
In the video, Davido was seen placing a phone call to his wife, asking her to transfer $4,000 to his longtime aide, Lati, after experiencing difficulties accessing his bank account.
“Good morning, my love. Please help me send Lati $4,000. I can’t log in and I don’t know why. I love you,” Davido said during the call.
After ending the conversation, the singer explained to those around him why his wife was handling the transaction, admitting that he is not the best person to manage his own finances.
“My wife manages my money. I’m a reckless spender, so she’s the one who arranges everything. She’s my life coordinator and I don’t play when it comes to her,” he said.
Davido’s comments offered fans a glimpse into the couple’s relationship, highlighting the trust he places in Chioma to oversee his financial affairs and other aspects of his personal life.
The revelation comes shortly after the singer disclosed in another interview that he spends between $200,000 and $300,000 every month, excluding household expenses, luxury vehicle purchases, jewellery and his wife’s personal spending.
