Music lovers in Kumasi turned out in large numbers as Retro Vibe, one of Ghana’s leading daytime entertainment events, staged its much-anticipated Asanteman Edition, delivering an unforgettable celebration of music, culture, and nostalgia.
Held on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at the AQ3 Centre in Kumasi, the event attracted patrons dressed in vibrant Asanteman jerseys, creating a colourful atmosphere that reflected the region’s rich cultural heritage.
The event featured electrifying performances from top DJs, including DJ Vyrusky, Mr. Kaxtro, and DJ Delagh, while MC Kwabbsferry kept the audience entertained with energetic hosting throughout the day.
A standout moment of the event came when the DJs paid musical tribute to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II by playing Ahenfo Kyiniyɛ by Daddy Lumba, featuring Pat Thomas. The song celebrated the Golden Stool and honoured the Asantehene’s enduring cultural legacy, drawing enthusiastic applause from patrons.
Adding to the excitement, veteran Ghanaian rapper Okomfour Kwadee made a surprise appearance, treating fans to a performance of some of his classic early-2000s hits. His energetic stage presence and signature rap style sparked nostalgia, with the audience singing along to many of his well-loved songs.
