Ghanaian music stars Shatta Wale and Medikal have paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Sammy Gyamfi, as part of efforts to explore possible collaborations aimed at promoting Ghanaian creativity and entertainment.
The visit, according to Shatta Wale, was focused on strengthening partnerships that support Ghana’s creative industry and create greater opportunities for artistes on both local and international platforms.
Shatta Wale was accompanied by members of his team during the meeting, which took place ahead of his much-anticipated ShattaFest UK concert scheduled for August 1.
Receiving the artistes at his office, Sammy Gyamfi welcomed the visit and described Shatta Wale and Medikal as two of Ghana’s prominent music talents.
He praised Shatta Wale’s career journey and his advocacy for creatives to pursue sustainable and meaningful careers within the entertainment sector.
“I have taken interest in your careers, especially your advocacy for creatives pursuing something meaningful,” Sammy Gyamfi said.
The GoldBod CEO also expressed his organisation’s readiness to support and collaborate on ShattaFest UK, describing the event as an opportunity to showcase Ghanaian music and culture to a global audience.
“With regards to ShattaFest, count us in. We will be part of it. We know it is going to be big because you have set a precedent that anything involving you will be big,” he stated.
Sammy Gyamfi referenced Shatta Wale’s previous successful concerts and birthday celebrations, noting that the dancehall artiste has consistently created platforms that attract attention to Ghana’s entertainment industry and celebrate local talent.
For Shatta Wale, the partnership represents part of his broader vision of using music and entertainment as tools to promote Ghana internationally while creating opportunities for players within the creative sector.
The meeting comes as preparations intensify for ShattaFest UK, an event expected to attract Ghanaian music lovers and members of the diaspora while highlighting Ghana’s growing influence in the global entertainment space.
