“Something Must Be Very Wrong Up There” D-Black Reacts to Semenyo’s Black Stars Withdrawal

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

When key players start stepping away from national duty, you can bet the football conversation is about to get louder than the stadium speakers.

Ghanaian rapper and entrepreneur D-Black has joined the growing discussion surrounding the Black Stars after reports that Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo has requested to be excused from the national team squad.

Taking to X, the music mogul expressed his frustration over the latest development, pointing to a string of high-profile players reportedly withdrawing from the Black Stars setup.

“Inaki Williams, now Semenyo, withdrawing from playing for Black Stars for AFCON… Something must be very wrong up there,” D-Black posted.

His comments come amid growing attention around the availability of some of Ghana’s biggest names ahead of upcoming international assignments.

Inaki Williams and Antoine Semenyo have both been mentioned in the latest withdrawal conversation, while Mohammed Kudus has also been absent from the squad setup.

Naturally, that has left supporters asking questions.

Is it injuries? Personal circumstances? Club commitments? A disagreement somewhere behind the scenes? Or is there a bigger issue that the public simply has not been told about yet?

For now, those questions remain unanswered, and it would be premature to treat speculation as fact.

What is undeniable, however, is that losing several prominent attacking players creates a major selection headache for the technical team.

For D-Black, the pattern is enough to raise eyebrows.

His post reflects a sentiment that has increasingly surfaced among supporters whenever several high-profile players become unavailable at the same time: when the withdrawals start piling up, people naturally want to know why.

Until the Ghana Football Association or the players involved provide fuller explanations, the real reasons behind each absence remain a matter of official clarification.

One thing is certain, though. The Black Stars have enough football drama without needing anyone to add a soundtrack.

And D-Black has already pressed play.
