When True Colors Show: Kwaw Kese Serves Premium Shade Amid the Sarkodie and Stonebwoy Showdown

If Ghanaian celebrity drama had a commentator’s box, Kwaw Kese would probably have his microphone switched on permanently.

As the increasingly heated public spat between Sarkodie and Stonebwoy continues to dominate Ghanaian social media, the “Abodam” hitmaker has stepped into the conversation with the one weapon he knows will always land: a perfectly timed proverb.

Taking to X, Kwaw Kese shared a cryptic message about character that felt less like a random philosophical observation and more like a carefully packaged “I told you so.”

His message was simple. Character, he suggested, is like pregnancy. You can try to hide it, cover it up and pretend nothing is happening, but eventually, it will reveal itself.

And judging by the timing, the message hardly needed a name attached to it.

For anyone familiar with Ghanaian hip-hop history, Kwaw Kese’s post is unlikely to be mistaken for an innocent contribution to the world of motivational quotes. His relationship with Sarkodie has been frosty for years, with tensions dating back to at least 2021.

During that period, Kwaw Kese publicly criticized Sarkodie, accusing the rap heavyweight of being arrogant, overly guarded with money and dismissive toward some colleagues in the music industry.

Now that Sarkodie finds himself embroiled in a very public confrontation with Stonebwoy, Kwaw Kese appears to believe that the latest drama is giving audiences a glimpse of the personality he has been talking about for years.

Naturally, Ghanaian social media did what Ghanaian social media does best.

The comment section quickly became a courtroom.

Sarkodie’s critics seized on Kwaw Kese’s proverb and treated it like fresh evidence in an already heated case. His supporters, however, were having none of it. They fired back, accusing the rapper of using Sarkodie’s latest controversy as an opportunity to generate attention and remain relevant.

So, depending on which side of the fanbase you ask, Kwaw Kese is either a prophet who has finally been vindicated or a veteran troublemaker who spotted an open door and walked straight through it.

Either way, his timing was impeccable.

Because in Ghanaian entertainment, old beef rarely disappears completely. It simply goes into hibernation, waits patiently for another celebrity controversy, then wakes up just in time to whisper three dangerous words:

“I told you.”
