If there is one thing Black Sherif has mastered, it is making sure his music does not need a visa to travel.
The Ghanaian superstar has added another international achievement to his growing résumé after his song “Jolie” debuted at No. 20 on the UK Official Afrobeats Chart.
The track entered the chart as a new entry for the week, immediately securing the No. 20 position and giving Black Sherif yet another reason to keep the celebration going.
“Jolie” is part of his six-track SUN SHERIF EP, a project that has been generating significant attention since its release.
And for Black Sherif, making noise in the United Kingdom is becoming less of a surprise and more of a regular appointment.
His previous UK Afrobeats Chart performances include the massive “Kwaku the Traveller,” which climbed as high as No. 2 and remained on the chart for an impressive 13 weeks.
His collaboration with Burna Boy on the “Second Sermon” Remix also enjoyed a strong run, spending 13 weeks on the chart and reaching No. 8.
But the Black Sherif passport has collected even more stamps.
Tracks including “Soja,” “45,” “Shut Up,” “Kilos Milos” and “Lord I’m Amazed” have also found their way onto the UK Afrobeats Chart, further highlighting the consistency of his international appeal.
The Official Afrobeats Chart measures the performance of Afrobeats songs in the UK using streaming and sales data collected over a seven-day period.
So, when “Jolie” arrives at No. 20, it is not simply another number on a graphic. It is another indication that Black Sherif continues to command attention beyond Ghana.
From Konongo to the UK charts, Black Sherif continues to prove that geographical borders are not particularly interested in stopping his music.
At this point, whenever Blacko releases a song, the charts might as well leave a parking space available.
Because the traveller keeps arriving.
