In a twist nobody saw coming, Shatta Wale has surprisingly stepped into the spotlight to defend his longtime rival, Stonebwoy.
The drama started after social media users spotted curtains and drapes being used to partition sections of the auditorium during Stonebwoy’s recent concert. As expected, the internet did what it does best. Critics quickly turned the curtains into evidence, suggesting they were strategically placed to hide empty seats.
But then came Shatta Wale, armed with something rarely associated with celebrity beef: common sense.
Speaking during a TikTok live session, the dancehall star dismissed the criticism and said there was absolutely nothing wrong with using curtains to reduce the size of a venue.
According to him, artists should work within their means instead of getting trapped in a never-ending competition over who can put on the biggest show, hire the biggest stage or fill the largest auditorium.
Shatta Wale also urged musicians to stop measuring success solely by the number of seats occupied or the size of their production. For him, putting on a good show is more important than trying to impress people with an expensive setup that may not make financial sense.
It was a surprisingly calm and practical take from a man whose name is almost synonymous with musical rivalry.
Whether this is the beginning of a new chapter in the Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy saga or simply a rare ceasefire remains to be seen.
For now, however, Shatta Wale has delivered a message worth hanging on the wall, preferably without needing a curtain to hide it: use what you can afford, put on a great show and stop competing with people’s budgets.
